Express Entry- The popular federal immigration program of Canada has delivered some unexpected results this year so far. With all the records and news created, applicants got benefited at the end of the day. The qualifying marks reduced to 434 this year in the sixth Express Entry draw, which never happened before. Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) never reduced the qualifying marks or CRS score requirement to this low. However, in the very next draw the qualifying marks again increased marginally by the IRCC. Let’s find out what else was dramatic with the last EE draw to understand what the 8th EE Draw will bring for the applicants.
Analysis of the 7th Express Entry Draw
After the record reduction in the qualifying marks in sixth Express Entry draw, the IRCC kept the applicants waiting for a very long time. The 7th Express Entry draw launched after 23 days of the earlier draw, i.e. on 24th March, 2017. The candidates with low qualifying marks were keeping their fingers crossed thinking that the IRCC will further reduce the CRS Score requirement below 434 points. However, it wasn’t to be as the after making the applicants wait almost for a month IRCC increased the CRS score requirement by 7 points to make it 441 points or more.
The Falling trend of Qualifying marks finally ended in 7th EE Draw
The qualifying marks were being reduced by the IRCC since mid of December, 2016. And this trend continued till the 8th draw on 24th March, 2017. In all draws between these dates, the CRS Score requirement got consistently reduced by Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). So, qualifying marks increased first time in last for months by IRCC. And these 4 months were like a gala time for the applicants with low qualifying marks, i.e. 434-450. There long wait in express entry system finally ended and they got an invite from the IRCC to apply for Permanent residency visa.
What are the expectations from 8th Express Entry Draw?
Well, after the dramatic express entry draw this year, even the experts are not finding it safe to make any predictions about the IRCC Express Entry draws. IRCC has surprised everyone about their record draw results this season. There were records for low qualifying marks, highest number of invitations, and longest wait for the draw, etc. Hence, IRCC has really been unexpected and uncanny throughout this year. However, looking at the federal government commitment to boost number of immigrants in the country, we may say that the qualifying marks will either be stable around the same mark, and even if there is an upsurge, it won’t be too high.
