Considerable drop in the qualifying marks in the 6th Express Entry draw this year has raised the expectations of the express entry applicant. Hence, the candidates are fancying their chances yet again with the drop in CRS (Comprehensive ranking System) score requirement from IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada). This is the reason that all applicants are eagerly waiting for the forthcoming, i.e. 7th Express entry draw of the year.

Expectations from 7th draw of express entry this year

Well, 7th draw is expected to be positive from applicants' point of view. There are discussions going across various forums about no significant reduction in CRS score requirement from IRCC this year, like it did last year.

CRS Score 2017

However, if you explore last years, express entry draw results closely, you will find that there was not notable reduction in qualifying marks most of the time in first quarter of 2017. It was after 2nd quarter, IRCC made considerable decrease in the qualifying marks or CRS score requirement.

EE draw trend this year

This year also, the Express entry draws are following somewhat similar trend. The qualifying marks have remained around 450 mark most of the time this year. However, in the last (i.e. 6th) express entry draw, IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) has made a reduction of 10 points in the qualifying marks.

CRS Score April to September 2017

Which indeed a good sign in favour of registered applicants in the federal express entry system. We hope, IRCC continues this reduction in future draw as well, like it did last year.

Last year, Express Entry draws broke all past record in terms of lowest ever CRS score requirement and highest ever Canadian PR visa invitations in several EE Draws.

What you must do as an applicant waiting for ITA through Express entry?

Well, if you are an express entry applicant, who doesn't have very high CRS score and hence, waiting for the ITA (Invitation to Apply) for a long time, you may consider the a few key things. First of all, check if you can enhance your CRS score somehow, i.e. through, taking up the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) English test once again for higher score. You may also try adding credentials of your spouse to enhance your CRS score.

The other thing you are advised to is to explore the alternative immigration programs, to obtain Canadian PR, i.e. Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) or Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP). In fact, QSWP is about to introduce new application system, which will be based on Express Entry model.
