The Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) have finally launched the 7th Express Entry draw this year on March 24, 2017. The word ‘Finally’ is apparent to use here as the usual launch time already passed, since the previous draw launched on March 1, 2017. IRCC usually launches its draws on fortnightly basis. However, it every now and then breaks the trend depending on the circumstances. The previous draw also launched in a week’s time, which was quite unusual considering the fortnightly EE draw pattern.
Let’s take a look at the key statistics of the current EE Draw.
Key Features of 7th EE Draw launched
The applicants invited through current Express Entry draw will become eligible to apply for permanent residency in Canada to Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The IRCC will then do the formalities, i.e. health and character verification, etc.

Analysis of the EE draw trends this year
This year, the IRCC has pleased several express entry applicants with low qualifying marks. The qualifying marks reduced significantly by the IRCC this year, which in turn resulted in the massive number of invitations for Canada PR. Almost every express entry draw this year created a new record for highest number of invitations or for the lowest qualifying marks ever in the history of federal Express Entry System of Canada Immigration.
Impact of the Current Express Entry Draw
The current EE draw results might have pleased several candidates registered in the express entry, however, the applicants, who didn’t receive the ITA in the current draw, don’t need to be disappointed as they may get their chance in the next draw.
The Canadian government offers multiple pathways to the skilled workers to immigrate to and get permanent residency in Canada apart from express entry system.
Even if the CRS score requirement in Express Entry doesn’t reduce further, the applicants with low qualifying marks also has a chance to apply in the other popular Canada immigration program with lesser eligibility requirements, i.e. upcoming Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP), Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP), Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), and even the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP), etc.
