IRCC Reduced the Qualifying Marks to Record low (441) in the 5th Express Entry Draw of 2017

The express entry draws continues to please the applicants in the New Year 2017 as the latest draw created yet another record for the lowest qualifying marks ever. The applicants receiving invitation vide present express entry draw will have to submit the complete permanent residency visa application within 90 days of the receipt of invite from Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Let’s take a look at the key statistics of the current EE draw.

  • The Draw is open from February 22, 2017 to February 23, 2017
  • The qualifying marks required for the draw are 441 points or more
  • A total of 3,611 candidates will get the Canadian PR invitation in the draw.

The candidates receiving ITA (Invitation to Apply) from the IRCC in the current draw will become eligible to apply for permanent residency in Canada.

Assessment of the 5th Express Entry Draw

The current express entry draw has been the true reflection of what has been happening in the federal express entry draws in the New Year 2017, i.e. reduced CRS score requirement, enhanced number of invitations, and setting up of new records. The qualifying marks or CRS Score requirement reached to lowest mark, i.e. 441 points since the launch of express entry system two years back. The candidates achieving or exceeding the point score of 441 will receive invitation for Canadian PR from Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

In the previous draw as well the qualifying marks touched the lowest level and it further reduced in the current draw. Talking about number invitations issued for Canadian permanent residency the figure was high, but stable with a minor decrease of 53 points. Last time round the number of invites issued were 3,664 points, while in the present draw, the qualifying marks are 3,611 points or more.

Express Entry Applicants are having a gala time

The IRCC has been quite lenient this year on the applicants registered in express entry system, else the candidates with qualifying marks around 441, used to apply in Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) last year, to get considered for the Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency in Canada.

Most of the draws this year has created new records for either qualifying marks or the number of invitations issued by IRCC.
