The Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) continues to reduce the required qualifying marks for Canadian permanent residency as the CRS score requirement hit the record low in the 4th express entry this year. This time around the new record is created for both number of PR invitations issued and CRS score required from IRCC.

Let’s take a look at the key features of the current EE Draw.

The 4th EE Draw of 2017

Here are the key statistics of the current EE Draw:
  • The CRS score requirement has been reduced to 447 points or more
  • IRCC will issue 3664 invitations for Canadian PR during the draw
  • The present EE Draw is open from February 8, 2017 to February 9, 2017

The candidates will also receive the e-mail intimations with regards to the invitation issued to them for Canadian Permanent residency. All the candidates, who have received the ITA (Invitation to Apply) from IRCC, will have to submit the complete application along with the required documents within 90 days of the invitation receipt, as per the latest instructions.

The 4th Draw in fact is a new beginning in the Express Entry draw trends as the CRS score requirement from IRCC has never went below 450 points ever. And as this barrier is now crossed, we may see further fall in the requirement in the draws to come.

Who will be pleased?

This is particularly good news for the applicants with CRS score below 450 and even below 440 points. As of now, the 450 was considered to be a threshold for EE draws for some reason. It was a common understanding that qualifying marks will never come below 450 mark and candidates who have score below this mark, have the option of applying in the Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs), or in other immigration programs only.

List of Complete Express Entry Draws till date

However, now as the IRCC is prepared to open the deadlock and invite candidates below 450 points; we may see massive number of applicants getting the invitation to applying in coming EE draws. It may please several candidates waiting in the express entry for long for the ITA.
