Canada Immigration applicants in Express entry finally have a lot to cheer after a tough time seen in the second half of the year 2016 in terms of high qualifying marks requirement form Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The last draw also signifies the mild stand taken by IRCC in terms of reducing the CRS score requirement to 459 points almost after a year. The year 2016 though had been tough on the candidates most of the time in the year. Let’s take a look.
Requirement of Qualifying Marks in 2016 from IRCC
Year 2016 started well for the applicants, as qualifying mark requirement from IRCC in the first quarter remained around 450-70 marks. However, on May 6, 2016, it rocketed up to 534 points and from that point, it kept higher side only and never went below the 482 points till October, 2016. It was tough on the applicants as very less number of applicants received ITA (invitation to apply) for permanent residency in Canada from IRCC.
The number of invitations in every EE draw remained around 750 only most of the time between May, 2016 and August, 2016. Number of invites gradually started increasing from September, 2016 onwards. Towards the last quarter of 2016, the Express entry draw results gradually began tilting towards the applicants.
New Year 2017 Start off Well- What are the expectations from upcoming draws?
The New Year 2017 began well for the applicants as qualifying marks requirement kept low, i.e. 465 and 459 points in first and second express entry draw respectively. Moreover, both first and second draw invited record number of candidates for Canadian PR. First EE draw this year set a record of 2902 PR invitations from IRCC, and second draw was even larger than the first as it set the new record by inviting highest number of Candidates (3334) for Canadian permanent residency.
The first quarter of 2017 is going to be lenient on applicants, as it was around last year. This year, immigration target for economic immigration is also high compared to last year, so the good start to the year for immigrants is justified. Hence, the qualifying marks are expected to keep low, resulting in higher number of invitations from IRCC. Hence, if you are an express entry applicant, you have got enough reasons to stay positive for upcoming draws.

If you are looking for a Visa company who is fast, organized and very detailed oriented then you should get in touch with Visas Avenue Pvt. Ltd. Shivangi Arora was my case manager and she has a very good knowledge of the process. She was very prompt and diligent, she made sure that all the documents are provided on time so that the Immigration doesn t ask for anything at a later stage. I am really happy with their work as I have got my Australian PR because of them which is like a dream come true with 50 bands in each module in PTE test. I would definitely recommend them to all my friends and relatives who are looking forward for their visa processing. Keep doing the good job and making lives!!
I have been the client of Visas Avenue from past 1.5 years now and recently received the approval for Permanent Residency (PR) Canada. I must say that they are the finest bunch of dedicated professionals and probably the best in their domain. I visited them after receiving positive feedback from few of my friends & known. And I must say that I found their services exactly the same as I heard from my references.I was especially impressed by the way; my case manager (Ms Ruchika Sharma) went an extra mile whenever I asked her for help at every step, may it be related to the documents required, answering queries, LOI, online procedures, payments, etc.My Case officer & other support executives (Ms. Surbhi) were extremely helpful & professional throughout the visa process. At one point of time post many IELTS attempts I was unable to score CLB 9 & thereafter planned to drop the idea of immigrating to Canada but my case manager: Ms Ruchika Sharma was quite positive to convince me & gave vital advise to apply for Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). In fact, she did it on my behalf and fortunately, I was nominated from the Ontario Province of Canada. It made my road to Canada lot easier as I subsequently, got Invite to apply for Canada PR, which wouldn’t have been possible without the sincere efforts of this hardworking professional team @ Visas Avenue. Thanks for making my wish come true.Best of Luck !!
Visas Avenue had to be the pathway I had to chose to sail through my PR process for Canada. I visited many agencies and with the way my initial queries were satisfactorily handled, I decided to move forward with their help. It has been a long journey and they have been thoroughly helpful and supportive in each and every phase of this process. Special Thanks to Gaurav Sharma - I disturbed him a lot with tons of millions of queries and doubts, but he remained calm, cooperative and fully knowledgeable to help me understand every nitty-gritty of the process. I will not hesitate in recommending Visas Avenue to any of my friends or acquaintances who wishes to apply for Canada PR application. Many Thanks once again Gaurav for your incredible support.
Very Professional Consultancy, which has actual meaningful escalation Matrix system for customers too. Without them I won t have been able to get PR simply because they put lots of effort for my PNP nomination. Special mentions to Mrigya Shah & Arpita Saha for their knowledgeable support, professional communication, support and efforts. Thanks a lot.
