The Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has launched the 2nd express entry draw of the year 2018 on January 24, 2018. The draw has been launched to issue ITA (Invitation to Apply) to the applicants, who have a CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score above a definite mark. Let’s take a look at the CRS score requirement and further details about the draw.
2nd Express Entry Draw of 2018Find below the key details about the current EE draw:
The candidates who have the CRS score equal to or above 444 points will receive the ITA (Invitation to Apply) Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) Visa from IRCC. Once an applicant has received the ITA from IRCC, he/she needs to submit the complete PR visa application along with the required documents within 90 days of the receipt of ITA.
Tie breaker rule
A tie breaker rule has been introduced by IRCC for express entry draw results a few months back. As per this rule, if more than one express entry applicant has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they registered their profile in federal Express Entry system. For the present express entry draw the tie braking rule is January 17, 2018 at 12:33:00 UTC.
Analysis of the draw
The draw was on time this time around as per the fortnightly draw opening pattern. As far as qualifying marks or CRS score requirement is concerned there was no major upsurge or drop down noticed in the same. In the current EE Draw, the CRS score requirement was reduced by mere 2 points to be 444 CRS points or more.
The number of Canada PR invitations remained unchanged in the current EE Draw, i.e. 2,750. It was the same in the previous express entry draw. The IRCC seems to have decided a new benchmark for Canada PR invites for few initial draws.
