20th Express Entry Draw of 2016- Will the Qualifying marks further decline?

By Rajneesh Kumar Posted 19, Sep 2016

visas default image The last express Entry Draw (i.e. 19th EE Draw) gave a huge respite to the Canada immigration applicants with qualifying marks below 500. In the last draw of express entry, IRCC (Immigration, Refugee, and Citizenship Canada) reduced the qualifying marks to 491 compared to 538 points in the draw prior to that.

19th Draw Result and its implications

As just conveyed, the qualifying marks reduced drastically in the 19th draw, which gave a reason to smile to the several applicants with relatively low qualifying marks (Below 500). This drastic fall had positive impact on the number of Canada PR invitations as well. The number of PR invitations rocketed to 1000 mark, which is a record in last 9 draws. It took 6 months and 9 draws to for Canada PR invitations to touch the figure of 1000.

Hence, 19th EE draw brought positive outcome for the Express Entry applicants by and large. It will be interesting to see as to what the next draw of express entry will bring for applicants.

What are the expectations from 20th draw of Express Entry?

Well, the 20th draw of Express Entry System is unlikely to deviate much from the last figures. It means both qualifying marks and number of invites will not change drastically. Qualifying marks will remain around 490 mark in the absence of any relevant news or information. Similarly, the PR invitations will also remain more or less the same way.

What the applicants waiting for ITA must do?

As already conveyed, no drastic change in the next draw is expected, in such a scenario, the applicants with low qualifying marks are advised to find ways to improve their EE Profile score and alongside the same, look to apply in alternate Canada immigration programs offering Permanent residency in Canada.

Think beyond Express Entry

We at Visas Avenue being the key source of guidance to Canada immigration applicants, have been constantly telling to the applicants through our different online posts and articles that don’t just rely on express entry ITA (invitation to apply) and look out for alternate options to obtain Canada PR.

For instance, recently launched and closed Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) is a crucial program to obtain PR in Canada.  The SINP offers many relaxations to the applicants including ‘no job offer requirement’ and ‘low IELTS score requirement’ (i.e. CLB 4). The Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP) offers the similar benefits to applicants. Hence, coordinate with a reliable Visa Consultancy Service and apply in the key immigration programs of Canada to secure early PR.
