By Rajneesh Kumar Posted 20, Aug 2016

visas default image We are in to 8th month of this year and immigration through express entry is not yet on song till date. The applicants are desperately waiting for the 18th draw of express entry in hope of the reduced qualifying marks, so that their chances of getting ITA become bright. Express Entry is the crucial gateway of Canadian immigration, as it provides the permanent residency in Canada fastest way. However, the latest trends don’t support the hopes of applicants. Let’s analyze the trends so far and find out what are your chances of getting ITA in the forthcoming draw of express entry.

Express Entry Draw trends in 2016

The EE Draw results have not been familiar so far in the year 2016, especially, for the applicants with low CRS Score. For instance, last draw itself registered the highest qualifying marks or CRS Score requirement in last seven draws, i.e. 490 points or more.

Highest CRS score requirement this year was 534 points, which was declared in the 10th draw of express entry. After the 10th draw, it has been around 480 points most of the time. Consequently, it impacted the number of invitation that also remained close to 750 mark post the 10th draw of express entry.

Slow Immigration via Express entry this year

In year 2016, the immigration through Express entry has been quite slow, as around 700 invitations only issued in most of EE Draws. It may have to do with the QSWP intake occurred in the month of June and August, 2016. The QSWP intake accepted 5000+5000 application in both its intakes this year. This might have caused the slow immigration via express entry, as one gateway was already accepting huge number of application at a particular point of time.

The trend was somewhat similar last year 2015 as well, when first half of the year saw high qualifying marks and low number of invitations. The second half of 2015 saw a tremendous rise in number of invites, qualifying marks went down drastically.

What are the expectations from 18th Draw of Express Entry?

The 18th Draw of Express entry may remain the same way as it has been in last few draws with slight reduction or upsurge here and there in either qualifying marks or PR invitations. The later draws might see some favorable patterns, as the government would try to achieve their annual immigration target towards the year end.
