Yukon Nominee Program (YNP) is the key immigration program of the Yukon Territory in Canada. It operates in coordination with the federal government to invite skilled and talented immigrants for permanent residency in the territory of Yukon. The candidates selected in Yukon Nominee Program (YNP), gets the nomination certificate, which makes them eligible to get Permanent residency in Canada. The YNP is based on the economy and labour market needs of the Yukon.

What is Critical Impact Worker Program?

This particular program has been designed for those individuals who have experience in the high demand unskilled or semi-skilled occupations in the Yukon Territory. Also, to apply under this program, you must have the job offer from the employer in Yukon Territory.

What are the key requirements of the Yukon Business Nominee Program (YBNP)?

Here are the key requirements of Yukon Business Nominee Program (YBNP):

  • Applicants need to achieve at least 56 points on the Nominee Assessment Grid
  • Language proficiency- Need to score minimum level 6 in IELTS testing system for English language or level 4 in TEF (Test d’Evaluation De Francais )Test
  • Need to have the appropriate business management or entrepreneurial experience
  • Need to have minimum legal net worth of CAD $250,000, verified by a Certified Third Party;
  • Need to have minimum CAD $150,000 in liquid assets (cash derivatives bonds, cash, etc.), verified by a Certified Third Party;
  • Need to give evidence that the claimed net worth and liquid assets has been acquired lawfully
  • Need to Provide:
    • A business plan mentioning how the sponsored Applicant will establish a successful business enterprise in one of the industries listed on the Strategic Sector List. The Supported Applicant must demonstrate a minimum $150,000 CAD investment in the business with no less than 33.33 percent ownership, OR
    • An equity investment in a business in one of the industries listed on the Strategic Sector List of minimum CAD $1,000,000.
    • In both aspects, the Supported Applicant requires to show the active and current management of the business.
  • Submit an immigration and settlement plan showing intent to get Permanent Residency in Yukon Territory.

Is an applicant selected in Yukon Nominee Program (YNP), needs to compulsorily settle in Yukon Territory only?

Well, as per the process of Yukon Nominee Program (YNP), on getting selected for Yukon nomination certificate, you need to provide the settlement plan showing that you want to live and work in Yukon on a permanent basis. However, as per the Canadian Law and Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, every Canadian permanent resident and citizen has the right to live and work anywhere in Canada. Hence, once you have received permanent residency status while residing in Yukon Territory, you are free to live and work in any province or territory in Canada.
