What is Ontario PNP?

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) of Canadian province Ontario. It has been designed to select the suitable individuals for permanent residency in order to meet the labour market demands of Ontario.

The OINP selects the applicants from Express Entry pool, who have skills and experience to make valuable contribution to the economy and development of the province of Ontario. The OINP assess the received applications and accordingly nominate them to IRCC for Canadian permanent residency.

OINP Express Entry- HCP Stream 2018

Although OINP has several streams, however, Express Entry- Human Capital Priorities Stream of OINP is the most popular among the applicants of Canada PR. It has been designed for the skilled workers, who are willing to live and work in Ontario on a permanent basis. The express entry – HCP stream OINP is aligned with the Express Entry System.

What is the eligibility requirement to apply in OINP- Express Entry Stream?

Find below the key requirement to apply OINP- Express Entry HCP stream:

  • To be eligible to apply in OINP Express Entry stream an applicant must have his/her profile registered in federal express entry system (& qualify for express entry pool) with a CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score 400 points or above.
  • He must choose an option of ‘Interested in moving to Ontario’ or ‘All Provinces and territories’ while creating an express entry profile
  • Received
  • The applicant need to fulfil the basic criteria of Ontario’s Express Entry- HCP stream, i.e. education, skilled work experience, language ability, and other key parameters.

Ontario PNP occupation list 2017- 2018

Well, the Ontario doesn’t have any specific in demand occupation list for the skilled workers to nominate the same. However, if your occupation reflects in the NOC (National Occupational Classification) at skill type O, or skill levels A or B of Canada, you can apply in the OINP.

Moreover, if you are an ICT professional, you may also explore the below given prioritized ICT occupation list, revealed by Ontario June last year (i.e. year 2017), when it was issuing NOI to the ICT professionals even with the low CRS score.

Prioritized ICT Occupation by OINP

As per the new initiative taken by Ontario on June 26, 2017, the candidates with work experience in any of the following ICT occupations were eligible to receive a Notification of Interest (NOI) from OINP, i.e. an invitation to apply for a provincial nomination), even if their CRS score is below 400 points. Usually, Ontario only issue invitation to those candidates, who have CRS score 400 or above.

Note: The processing time varies based on validity and accuracy of individual applications and documents.
