Ontario PNP 2018 Processing Time and Document requirement

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is widely popular Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) of Ontario Province in Canada. The Ontario PNP has been designed to fulfil the labour market demands of Ontario. The OINP allows Ontario to nominate suitable skilled workers to IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) for Canadian Permanent residency.

It aims at selecting suitable people for the province which can contribute in the economy and development of Ontario. OINP functions in coordination with Federal government of Canada.

Main Categories of Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)

The OINP has designed some key categories to invite individuals with different skills, expertise, and relevance for Ontario. The two of its key categories are, Business and Human Capital category. Each category is includes various streams under which applicants submit an application. Find below the further breakup of these key categories of OINP:

Business Category

Business Category is further divided in two subcategories, i.e.

  1. Corporate Stream
  2. Entrepreneur Stream

  1. Corporate Stream: The Corporate Stream of Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has been designed to support established foreign corporations willing to expand into Ontario or purchase an existing business in the province.
  2. Entrepreneur Stream: The Entrepreneur Stream of Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has been designed to support overseas individuals in implementation of a new business idea or in purchasing an existing business in the province of Ontario.

 

Human Capital Category

     3. Masters Graduate Stream: This subcategory of Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has been designed for international students with a Master’s degree acquired in Ontario, to offers them an opportunity to live and work in Ontario on a permanent basis.
     4. PhD Graduate Stream: This subcategory of Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) offers an opportunity to international students with a PhD degree acquired in Canada to provide them an opportunity to live and work permanently in Ontario.

  1. Ontario’s Express Entry- Human Capital Priorities Stream

The Express Entry- Human Capital Priorities Stream of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has been designed for the overseas skilled workers who are willing to live and work in the province of Ontario on a permanent basis.

The HCP stream allows the OINP to nominate the foreign skilled workers, who are registered in the Express Entry pool of federal Express Entry System and who have got the essential education, skilled work experience, language skills, and other such capabilities to help themselves successfully fit in into Ontario’s labour market as well as communities and subsequently, settle in the province.

      2. Ontario’s Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream

The Express Entry French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream of Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has been designed for French-speaking overseas skilled workers, who also possesses strong English language skills and are also willing to live and work in the province of Ontario on a permanent basis.

      3. Ontario’s Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream

The Express Entry- Skilled Trades Stream of Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has been designed for the skilled workers with work experience in an eligible skilled trade, and who are also willing to live and work in the province of Ontario on a permanent basis.

Documents Requirements for Ontario PNP (HCP Category)

Find below the key documents required for HCP category of OINP:

  • Notification of Interest from Ontario (mandatory)- A copy (print screen) of your Notification of Interest (NOI) letter from Ontario that was sent to your online account with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
  • Identity Documents,e. Photograph (as per prescribed dimensions), passport, birth certificate, etc.
  • ECA (Educational Credential Assessment) to verify your qualifications obtained outside Canada
  • Language Test, i.e. copies of your English or French language test results (CLB 7 or above in all language competencies), i.e. International English Language Testing (IELTS) (General Training Test only)
  • Employment reference letter, from all past employers
  • Proof of Settlement funds, i.e. Bank Statement, etc.
  • Documents of the family member (if applicable)
  • Other key documents as per OINP-HCP documentation checklist

Note: The processing time varies based on validity and accuracy of individual applications and documents. Some applications may take longer than estimated processing time if OINP is waiting for extra documents or for a reply of procedural fairness letter. 

How to Apply in Ontario’s Express Entry-HCP stream?

As already mentioned, you first need to have a profile registered in Express Entry system to apply in the Express Entry- Human Capital Priorities (HCP) stream of Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). If you have profile registered in Express Entry system with CRS score above 400 points, you are eligible to receive the NOI (Notification of Interest) from OINP.
