Express Entry Year End Report 2019 – Canada Accepted 109,595 Permanent Residents
The Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has revealed its year-end report for the year 2019. As usual, Canada has invited significant number of candidates via different express entry categories.
Launched by the IRCC (then CIC) in 2015, today Express Entry is one of the best immigration systems in the world setting examples to fellow advanced nations.
The express Entry system invited total 1, 09,595 candidates and their family members in 2019, which is 19 percent higher compare to the year before that, i.e. 2018.
These admissions were under the four key categories of the EE system, i.e.
Most of these admissions in 2019 were through FSW (Federal Skilled worker) category, i.e. 58,173.
India tops the list of most common countries of citizenship in the year 2019 with 50,842 admissions, followed by Nigeria (8,423) and China (5,754).
You can see the difference in the number of people admitted to Canada from India (46 percent) and from Nigeria (8%) and rest of the countries. The pattern of the most common countries of citizenship was more or less the same in 2017 and 2018 as well apart from one or two changes.

Although, the Covid-19 pandemic has affected most of the advanced nations and, however, Canada immigration largely remained untouched by the disruption and chaos caused by this pandemic.
Canada continues to accept the new immigration applications. Moreover, the Express entry and Provincial Nominee Programs of Canada are inviting the candidates through their periodic draws.
As per Canada’s Midyear express entry report, Express Entry has invited whopping 49,900 candidates till the most recent express entry draw occurred on 25th June 2020. This number is much higher compared to the invitations issued by IRCC in 2019 (41,800) and 2018 (39,700) at this point of a year.
This is the best time to plan your immigration to Canada as the Canadian government has already started easing out the containment measures taken to contain the outbreak of Covid-19.
Moreover, if you apply Canadian permanent residency now, you are most likely to land in Canada by 2021. Hence, it is the perfect time to prepare your file and apply for the right Canada immigration program, when competition is less.
