The latest draw of the federal Express Entry system has answered many questions about Canada’s immigration and policies of the federal government.
The Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada, in fact, has put an end to all speculations about Canada’s stand on inviting the applicants primarily from outside Canada considering given the Covid-19 situation.
You can find from the above zigzag graph that Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada was preferring to invite PNP and CEC candidates and opening draws for both these categories one after another.
Hence, the applicants were getting restless, as most candidates under the FSW category were not able to get the invite to apply for Canadian permanent residency. Although, under the CEC and Provincial Nominee Program category candidates were invited from outside Canada as well. However, in general, most candidates under the FSW category and with low CRS scores were not getting the invitations.
The draw that occurred on 8th July 2020 invited candidates under all categories, i.e.
The IRCC invited 3,900 candidates in this draw with a CRS score requirement of 478 points or above. Needless to mention that this draw of IRCC was a completely regular draw and no program-specific draw. There was a record established for the total invites as well.
Until the last draw, the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada have now issued 53,800 invitations this year, to apply for a Canadian PR visa in 22 draws. This is an incredible number of invites issued by the IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) this year, despite the disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
This decision from the Canadian government was always on the cards, as Canada has had a lenient stand on immigration. The Canadian government invites more than 300,000 people every year in the country on different visas.
As per the Multi-Year Immigration Plan of Canada, the government will invite more than one million new immigrants by 2022, i.e. in the next three years. Hence, the applicants have every reason to stay positive about Canadian Immigration in the years to come.
Talking about the economic immigration target of Canada, it is also significant in terms of invitations to be issued to the applicants under Federal High Skilled Categories of Express Entry system, i.e. FST, FSW, and CEC.
The IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) have given a positive indication that now it will focus on its regular draws. Moreover, it is likely to invite the people outside Canada more through its regular FSW category draws in the second half of the year.
Canadian Immigration minister Marco Mendocino has clarified in his various statements that the Canadian government considers immigration as a driving force for the country’s economy and growth and hence, there is no question of stopping immigration in the near future.
Considering all these factors, it is great news for the thousands of Canadian PR visa applicants in the Express Entry system, who are eagerly waiting for a Canadian PR invitation from the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada. It will also encourage the tens of thousands of people aspiring to come to Canada on a PR visa.
If you apply for the Canadian PR visa today, you will most probably land in Canada next year, and by that time, things will have improved much more and settled as far as the concern over Covid-19 is concerned.
