CRS Score below 400? Find out how to get Canada PR invitation

Canada is known for its welcoming immigration policies and diverse culture, making it an appealing destination for individuals seeking a better life and career opportunities. To obtain permanent residency in Canada, through popular Express Entry System, you need to acquire the appropriate immigration point score or CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score in the EE system. The IRCC open a draw every 15 days to invite candidates with top CRS core, to apply for Canada PR visa.

However, if your CRS score is below 400 points, don't be disheartened. You still have several pathways to secure Canadian Permanent Residency. In this blog, we'll explore some strategies and options to help you achieve Canada PR with CRS Score below 400 points.

Find ways to Improve your CRS score

Here are some ways to increase your Express Entry CRS score:

  1. Enhance Your Language Proficiency:

One of the key constituents of the CRS score is language proficiency. Enhancing your skills in English and/or French can considerably boost your score. Consider taking language courses or exams such as IELTS, CELPIP, or TEF to demonstrate your proficiency. You may also get IELTS coaching for immigration to improve your language proficiency level.

  1. Add more Work Experience:

Gathering more work experience can upsurge your CRS score. Make certain that your current job aligns with the National Occupational Classification (NOC) to gain maximum points.

  1. Pursue Further Education:

Attaining higher education or Canadian degree or diploma can be a game-changer for your CRS score. Canadian education credentials can increase your eligibility for the Express Entry program. Consider enrolling in a Canadian institution to earn these valued points.

  1. Spousal Support:

If you have a spouse or partner who fulfils the eligibility criteria for Express Entry, their credentials can contribute to your overall score. Make sure that they complete an ECA (Educational Credential Assessment) and language proficiency test if applicable.

  1. Family Sponsorship:

If you have a close family member who is a permanent resident or citizen of Canada, he/she may be eligible to sponsor you for immigration.

  1. Immigration Assistance

Consulting a genuine and registered Visa Consultancy service can help you navigate the complex Canadian immigration system. They can provide expert guidance and help you identify the best options for your specific situation.

Keep a check on Category-based Express Entry draws

On May 31, 2023, Canadian government unveiled an exciting new approach within the Express Entry system. For the first time ever, prospective permanent residents with specialized skills, training, or language proficiency will receive invitations to apply based on specific categories. Now, the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is periodically holding the category-based express entry draws, wherein the foreign skilled workers with low CRS score (even below 400 points) are also getting the ITA (Invitation to Apply) for Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) visa.

Get the 600 Extra CRS points through Provincial Nomination

If your CRS point score is less than 400 points and hence, you are not getting the Invitation to apply for Canada PR, you can always apply in a Provincial Nominee Program.

If you apply in a PNP and able to be nominated from the relevant province of Canada, you become eligible to receive 600 additional CRS points in your express entry account.

Needless to mention that this massive addition of points raise your CRS score to such level that Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada is bound to issue Invitation to apply for Canadian PR visa to your profile in the EE system.

The PNPs have relatively easy process requirements, hence, its easy to apply in the provincial programs. Moreover, some PNPs invite the applicants even with relatively low CRS score, i.e. below 400 points and nominate them for the Canada PR visa. For instance, the Alberta Provincial Nominee Program invite the applicants even with CRS point score as low as just 300 points.
