A permanent resident can apply for citizenship in Canada after he/she has been physically present in Canada for 4 years in past 6 years. Moreover, the candidate for citizenship should be present in Canada for at least 183 days in a year in the 4 years out past six years. However, exceptions are also included in the total 1460 days of physical presence. It’s also not applicable to the children below 18 years.
