  • Express Entry System

Express Entry is a point based immigration system launched by Canadian government in January 2015. The skilled and talented people from overseas can create their profile in express entry mentioning key details of their profile. The IRCC then assess the submitted profiles and invite the top ranking applicants to apply for Canada PR through periodic draws.

If you apply in express entry, at first stage, to qualify, you need 67 points (out of 100) based on above mentioned selection factors. Whereas, once you are placed in Express entry pool, you need to have a point score (CRS score), as per the current demand (in fortnightly Express entry draw) from Canadian immigration department.

  • Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)

Most of the provinces in Canada has a Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP) through which they invite the skilled and talented people from foreign countries and subsequently, nominate them for permanent residency in Canada. In case your point score in Express entry is low, you can apply in a PNP, which has relatively low points as well as process requirements.

Provincial nomination received from a province makes entitle you to get the 600 additional CRS points in express entry and help you get the permanent residency in Canada. Every PNP has a separate eligibility requirements and process to apply.
